Advent Day 19 - We Will Wait & Watch for Jesus

Advent Day 19 –  We Will Wait & Watch for Jesus

“Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes.” – Luke 12:37

Reflection:
Advent is a season of waiting, not only for the celebration of Christ’s birth but also for His promised return. Waiting can be difficult, yet Jesus calls us to wait actively—with hearts and minds prepared, watching for His arrival with hope and expectation.

The shepherds waited for the promised Messiah, and when the angels announced His birth, they hurried to see Him. Likewise, Simeon and Anna waited faithfully in the temple, their eyes fixed on God’s promise. Their watchful waiting reminds us that faithfulness in the waiting season brings blessings and joy.

Today, we wait for Jesus to come again. While the timing of His return is unknown, His promise is certain. Our waiting isn’t passive—it’s a call to live in readiness, to serve others, and to reflect His love.

Let us wait and watch for Jesus with anticipation. Whether in times of joy or difficulty, let our hearts remain steadfast, trusting that His light will shine in the fullness of time.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, as we wait for You, help us to remain faithful and watchful. May our lives reflect Your love and grace so that we are ready to welcome You at any moment. Fill our hearts with joy and hope as we wait for Your return. Amen.

Action Step:
Take a few minutes to reflect on how you can actively prepare for Christ’s return. Is there an area of your life where you need to refocus on Him? Commit to a small act of kindness today as a way of sharing His light while you wait.
