Advent Day 17 - The Lord is my Savior
Advent Day 17 - The Lord is my Savior
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” – Luke 2:11
Reflection:
In the stillness of that first Christmas night, a message of profound hope was proclaimed: “A Savior is born!” This announcement to the shepherds wasn’t just for them—it was for the whole world, including you and me.
Jesus came as the Savior because we couldn’t save ourselves. Our sin had created a chasm too wide to cross, but God, in His love, made a way. He sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us, to redeem us, and to restore us.
When we confess Jesus as our Savior, we acknowledge our need for Him. We recognize that He alone saves us from sin, death, and eternal separation from God. He didn’t come merely to teach us or inspire us—He came to save us. This is the heart of Christmas: a Savior, given for us.
Let us rejoice today, knowing that the Lord is our Savior. He came to rescue us and to give us life—life abundant, eternal, and filled with hope.
Prayer:
Gracious God, thank You for sending Jesus to be my Savior. I confess my need for You and rejoice in the gift of salvation. Help me to walk in the freedom and hope that only You can give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action Step:
Take a moment today to thank God for the gift of salvation. Share with someone what it means to you that Jesus is your Savior.
