Advent Day 16 - Jesus is the Light of the World
Advent Day 16 - Jesus is the Light of the World
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” – John 8:12
Reflection:
As we journey through Advent, the anticipation of Christ’s birth brings to mind the image of light piercing through darkness. Jesus declared Himself to be “the light of the world”. He came into a world overshadowed by sin, brokenness, and despair to bring hope, truth, and eternal life.
Light has an incredible power. It reveals what is hidden, guides us when we are lost, and brings warmth and safety. In the same way, Christ illuminates our hearts and lives. When we follow Him, we no longer stumble in the darkness of confusion, fear, or sin. His light shines to guide our steps and transform our souls.
This Advent season, let us invite Jesus to shine His light into every corner of our hearts. Let us reflect His light to those around us—offering hope, love, and kindness in a dark world.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be the light of the world. Shine Your light in my life, revealing Your truth and love. Help me to reflect Your light to others so they too may know the hope that is found in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Action Step:
Take a moment to light a candle today as a reminder of Christ, the Light of the World. Reflect on areas of your life where you need His light and commit to shining His love to others.
