Advent Day 14 - The Lord is the One and Only True God
Advent Day 14 - The Lord is the One and Only True God
"For I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides me there is no God." – Isaiah 45:5
As we move closer to celebrating the birth of Christ, we are reminded of a foundational truth: the Lord is the one and only true God. In a world full of distractions and competing voices, Advent calls us to refocus our hearts and minds on God alone.
Isaiah’s proclamation highlights the uniqueness and sovereignty of God. He is not one among many; He is the only one. This truth takes on even greater significance during Advent, as we reflect on the incredible reality that this one true God chose to come to us as a child in a manger. Jesus’ birth is the ultimate expression of God’s love and His desire to be known by His people.
In this season, let’s set aside time to worship the Lord for who He is—our Creator, Savior, and King. Let us also remember that Advent is not just about looking back to Jesus’ birth but also looking forward to His glorious return, when all will recognize that He alone is God.
Prayer:
Lord, You are the one true God, and we worship You today. Help us to put aside anything that competes for our attention and to place You at the center of our lives this Advent season. Amen.

Reflection:
- What does it mean to you that the Lord is the only true God?
- How can you ensure that God remains central to your focus during Advent?
- "Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other." – Deuteronomy 4:39
- "And this is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." – John 17:3
