Advent Day 5 - Acting in Faith Pleases God

Advent Day 5 – Acting in Faith Pleases God

As we journey through Advent, we’re reminded that faith is the key to pleasing God. Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) says:
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Faith is more than a belief in God’s existence—it’s a confident trust in His character, His promises, and His plan for our lives. This verse challenges us to step beyond passive belief and actively live out our trust in Him.

When we act in faith:
  1. We Acknowledge Who God Is.
Believing that “He is” means recognizing His sovereignty, His power, and His love. Faith reminds us that God is not distant or indifferent; He is intimately involved in our lives.
  2. We Trust God’s Goodness.
Faith embraces the promise that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him. This doesn’t mean life will always be easy, but it assures us that God honors our pursuit of Him with His presence, peace, and provision.
  3. We Walk in Obedience.
Acting in faith requires us to take steps of trust, even when the path isn’t clear. Faith isn’t just about believing—it’s about living like we believe.

Think of Mary, the mother of Jesus, who responded to the angel’s message with faith: "Let it be to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38). Her willingness to act in faith brought forth the Savior of the world.

Reflection:
What step of faith is God calling you to take today? Is it trusting Him with a difficult situation, sharing His love with someone in need, or simply spending time seeking Him? Whatever it is, remember that your faith pleases God and draws you closer to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding us that faith is essential to pleasing You. Help us to trust You more deeply and act in faith daily. Strengthen our hearts to believe Your promises and seek You diligently. May our faith reflect our love for You in all we do. Amen.
This Advent, let’s live out our faith and bring joy to the heart of our Father.
